Emily Levey has a passion for sewing and loves nothing more than to share her knowledge and skills with others, teaching forgotten techniques in the hope students will find it as addictive as she does! She first started sewing over 20 years ago and has not put her needle down since. Today she can always be found in her studio, surrounded by fabric, rustling up a new dress or working on her latest quilt.
In 2011 Emily started writing her blog Strawberry Patch Ramblings to chart and share her sewing adventures, along with providing tutorials and news about classes. Emily is a member of the Modern Quilt Guild and loves to share her work and connect with other likeminded stitchy people through social media such as Instagram.
Emily is working on her first book collaboration, due out in June 2015 and her work has been featured in many sewing and patchwork magazines.
“Teaching for me is the most favourite part of my stitching life. Passing on my knowledge to others and showing them that they can also do it and then seeing the revelation and excitement on their faces when they master a new technique is simply wonderful. Craft Daily is such an exciting way to be able to do this, to me teaching needn’t be boring or strict, in fact it is important to me that everyone has fun and enjoys the process. After all it is the process of creating that makes up the large part of what we are looking for along with the sense of achievement on having crafted something beautiful. I can’t wait to show all the viewers that they too can enjoy themselves and make something to be proud of along the way.”
